Makai Glass Maui creates art born from the raw forces of the island. Founded by Justin Brown and Randy Schaffer, Makai blends fine art and island craftsmanship with a deep respect for the elements. What began as a small furnace and a shared vision is now supported by a dedicated team of craftsmen, artists, and makers across the company. Their skill, pride, and passion are woven into every sculpture we create. Each person brings years of experience in glass shaping, color work, cold working, finishing, and gallery presentation. Together, the team allows Makai to maintain the highest standard of quality while continuing to explore new ideas and forms.

OUR LOCATION IN HISTORIC HALIIMAILE

Makai Glass Maui is located in the heart of historic Haliimaile, surrounded by the old pineapple fields and the cool Upcountry breeze. This quiet plantation town has grown into a creative hub where artists, makers, and local farms shape the daily rhythm of the area.

Our studio and gallery sit just steps from Haliimaile General Store, Haliimaile Distilling, and the famous Maui Pineapple Tour. The area offers a peaceful and authentic Maui experience away from the crowds while still being close to the North Shore and Upcountry attractions.

Visitors are welcome to explore the gallery, watch the action in the hot shop, and feel the energy of molten glass being shaped in real time.
